Getting Started
What is 9pods?
9pods is a managed hosting platform for open-source software. You pick apps from a catalog of 170+ tools, n8n, Nextcloud, Vaultwarden, and more, and they run on your own isolated server, not a shared multi-tenant box.
The core idea
Self-hosting open-source software is usually cheaper and more private than the SaaS equivalent, but it comes with real operations work: provisioning a server, securing it, keeping it patched, configuring networking. 9pods handles that layer so you get the benefits of self-hosting without doing the infrastructure work yourself.
What you get
- Your own VPS. Every account gets an isolated server, sized to your plan.
- A one-click app marketplace. Install and uninstall apps from the catalog without touching a terminal.
- Secure access by default. Apps are reachable through a Cloudflare Tunnel, so there are no open ports on your server.
- Resource visibility. The dashboard shows RAM, CPU, and disk usage so you know what your plan can actually fit.
What 9pods isn't
It's not a website builder, and it's not a general-purpose cloud platform like AWS. It's specifically for running the open-source tools in the catalog, well, with less operational overhead than doing it yourself.
